Evaluate all chemical processes and ensure safety precautions and recommendations are effectively implemented.
Maintain and update regulatory registers (PCB and others) and ensure timely submission of statutory forms and reports to government authorities.
Coordinate with external agencies for safe disposal of hazardous waste and maintain proper documentation (including uploading/submitting records on PCB portals).
Assist management during regulatory audits, inspections, and notices, ensuring full compliance with EHS requirements.
Audits & Risk Assessments
Conduct regular audits of laboratories and ensure effective closure of findings.
Carry out Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and confirm that appropriate engineering controls are in place before execution of lab activities.
Participate in new substance risk assessments and EHS evaluations.
Monitor EHS performance indicators and recommend corrective and preventive measures for continuous improvement.
Process Safety & SOP Development
Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for laboratory processes.
Lead and support Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPs) and provide expert guidance for laboratory and engineering projects.
Incident & Emergency Management
Lead incident investigations and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Drive initiatives to promote a strong safety culture and enhance workplace safety.
Training & Reporting
Design and conduct EHS training programs for employees across the organization.
Prepare and present EHS-related MIS reports to management as required.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related discipline.
Proven experience in handling EHS functions within a chemical, pharmaceutical, or R&D environment.
Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance (PCB and other statutory bodies).
Hands-on experience in audits, chemical safety, HAZOP, risk assessments, and waste management.
Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
