Manager - Process Development Engineering
Sravathi Advance Process Technologies Pvt. Ltd., established in 2019, is a fast-growing R&D, flow chemistry focused organization located in Bommasandra, Bangalore. We are building state-of-the-art laboratories to accelerate discovery and development in pharmaceuticals and specialty chemicals. Position Overview:
The Manager – Process Development Engineering will lead a team of engineers, chemists, and technicians in the development of differentiated process technologies (DPT) using process intensification principles. The role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and the ability to drive projects from concept to commercialization.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of innovative process technologies using process intensification principles.
- Manage multiple projects with a rigorous project management approach.
- Design and execute bench-scale experiments (reaction and downstream) to generate engineering data and validate process improvements, focusing on reducing energy and material usage.
- Plan and conduct hypothesis-based experiments with a strong emphasis on safety, data analysis, and risk mitigation.
- Mentor and train young engineers in experimental design, data generation, and analysis, ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Deliver Conceptual Process Packages and guide the team in preparing Conceptual Engineering Packages, including process set points, equipment design, and technology transfer documents.
- Conduct engineering calculations for equipment sizing and design, including novel reactors and downstream units to leverage intensification opportunities.
- Contribute to intellectual property development by generating novel insights into processes.
- Participate in client discussions, presenting business benefits of DPT, and support technology licensing or commercialization targets (>30% process improvement).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s/Doctorate in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of Industrial experience post graduation, or 5–7 years post-PG.
- Proven expertise in technology development (R&D) and commercial translation using Process Intensification (Flow Chemistry preferred).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple complex projects.
- Solid understanding of chemistry and transport phenomena, with the ability to assess and implement process intensification in continuous operations.
- High initiative, self-motivation, and energy, with strong team leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to deadlines.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
